Candidates appearing for Civil services examinations have to check their strengths and weaknesses. In case, they have to get ready for the preparations of Prelims, they have to keep in mind about the Examination schedule announced by UPSC well in advance.
In 2020 , prelims has been rescheduled to 4th October 2020 and Mains from 8th January 2021 due to Lockdown in the entire country.
The Civils Examination schedule was delayed from 2013 onwards due to many agitations by candidates and change in the pattern of the examination.
Introduction of Ethics paper and reducing Optionals to one instead of two are the major changes made.

Prelims – 2020
Union Public Service Commission notifies every year its calendar of Examinations. It is customary to notify the Civil Service Examinations in the month of February.
Accordingly, the flag for Marathon race to Civil services will be waved. It is one of the prestigious notification for which lakhs of candidates await every year to test their luck. Around 5 lakhs candidates appear for CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATIONS.
